The abstract submission guidelines for the 8th Congress of the Balkan Association of Orthodontic Specialists (BAOS 2024), to be held in Limassol, Cyprus on November 15-16, 2024, are intended to provide clear instructions before submitting an abstract. Please carefully read the guidelines stated below.

The Scientific Committee invites authors to submit abstracts to be considered for inclusion in the programme. Authors must follow the guidelines for abstract submission set out below. Abstracts not conforming to these guidelines will not be considered for presentation.

Awards

The scientific committee will choose three e-posters that will be awarded a monetary prize and presented orally in the main auditorium. 

The awards are:

1st Prize: €250

FRANS VAN DER LINDEN MEMORIAL AWARD

The Cyprus Orthodontic Society (COS) in memory of Frans van der Linden will award a sum of €250 together with a certificate to the best e-poster chosen by scientific committee.  

2nd Prize: €150

MYRON LIEBERMAN MEMORIAL AWARD

The COS will award a sum of €150 together with a certificate to an e-poster chosen by scientific committee.

3rd Prize: €100

HANS PANCHERTZ MEMORIAL AWARD

The COS will award a sum of €100 together with a certificate to an e-poster chosen by scientific committee.   

The awarded posters will be presented orally in the main scientific program.

Deadline

The deadline for abstract submissions is Wednesday, October 16, 2024.

Abstract Submission Procedure

To submit an abstract, please send it at info@baos2024.com along with your full details: Name, Surname, Country, Title, University (if applicable) and phone number. 

Abstract Submission Rules

1.    Registration for the congress is required for presenting the poster. 

Please attached the payment receipt of your registration at info@baos2024.com 

2.    At least one author from each abstract is expected to attend the congress and present the e-poster.

3.    Submission of the abstract constitutes the author’s consent for publication (e.g., congress website, programmes, other   promotions, etc.).

4.    The Abstract Submitter warrants and represents that they are the sole owner or have the rights to all the information and content provided to BAOS 2024. The publication of the abstract does not infringe any third-party rights, including but not limited to intellectual property rights.

5.    The Abstract Submitter grants the Organizers a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, publish, translate, distribute, and display the content.

6.    The organizers reserve the right to remove any publication and abstract which does not comply with the above.

Abstract Submission Instructions

1.    All abstracts must be written in English.

2.    Submitted abstracts must be original.

3.    Abstracts previously published or presented at an international scientific meeting cannot be submitted.

4.    For the presentation of the abstract, it is essential that the presenting author is registered for the Congress.

5.    You may submit more than one abstract as the first author.

6.    Fill in the submitting author's name and email address properly; these contact details will serve for further correspondence with the author(s).

7.    Please indicate the appropriate congress topic.

8.    The maximum length of the body of the abstract for an e-poster presentation is 250 words.

9.    Tables and/or pictures are not accepted as part of the abstract.

Abstract Layout Instructions

1.    Abstracts will contain text only – graphs and pictures cannot be inserted.

2.    Title: Make the title of the abstract brief, clearly indicating the nature of the investigation. Use a capital letter for the first letter in the title only.

3.    Name of the author(s): Type the initial of the first name(s) followed by the family name(s). Do not include degrees or professional titles.

4.    Address/Institution: Type the name and location of the department or institution where your work was performed.

5.    Text of the abstract: Maximum length of the abstract is 250 words.

Abstract Delivery Notification

Authors will be notified about the delivery of their abstract by email. If you do not receive confirmation within 48 hours, please check your spam folder. If no confirmation email is received, please contact: info@baos2024.com or call at +357 25733000

Abstract Acceptance Notification

The Scientific Committee will determine whether the abstract will be accepted as an e-poster presentation. Authors will be notified about the acceptance or rejection of their abstract by email.

Final e-Posters/Oral Presentations

Authors of selected abstracts will be asked to send their e-poster by October 31, 2024. The e-posters must be presented in power point format.  

Abstract Review, Selection, and Publication

An international panel of experts will review the abstracts.

Withdrawal Policy

If authors wish to withdraw their abstracts from presentation or publication, they are requested to send a letter via email to the congress secretariat before November 8, 2024. Consequently, the abstract will not be presented nor published.
